Hybrid Theory EP was the first actual album released by the band. When Chester joined the band, they eventually renamed themselves to "Hybrid Theory", which is at the time they released the album. They made the 6 track album so they could send it to various record companies to try and strike a deal, which wasn't successful. Only around 1,000 original copies of the EP were made, few of which went to the companies, and the rest which went to the members of their official fan club, LPU. Remakes of the album have been made, but arn't worth nearly as much as the originals. On another note, track number 6, "Part of Me", actually contains 2 tracks. At 4:06, a new track comes on, which fans came up with the name as "Secret". Also, in this album, Pheonix had no part, he was replaced by Kyle Christener.
